Warren is a wooded Somerset County township about twenty-five minutes from my Neshanic Station studio, largely residential, sitting between the Watchung ridges and the 78 corridor.
Warren is green and low-density, and a lot of the best work here happens on private property — large wooded lots that give privacy and mature trees without going anywhere. The Watchung Reservation is minutes away on the eastern side when a session needs more scale. The tree cover is heavy, which is an advantage in harsh midday sun and a constraint late in the day, so scheduling tends to run earlier here than in open country.
