Basking Ridge sits in Bernards Township about twenty-five minutes from my Neshanic Station studio. It is an unusual mix — corporate campuses along the 287 corridor, a historic village centre, and Lord Stirling Park and the Great Swamp on its southern side.
The village centre around the Basking Ridge Presbyterian churchyard is the most recognisable ground here, with old stone and very mature trees. Lord Stirling Park gives open boardwalk and meadow for family sessions. The corporate presence along the 287 corridor means a lot of the portrait work here is business-driven — on-site team sessions where the office itself becomes the backdrop, which needs planning around light and available space.
