Madison sits about forty minutes from my Neshanic Station studio and has an unusual concentration of good backdrops for its size — two university campuses, a walkable downtown, and a lot of preserved architecture.
The Drew University and Fairleigh Dickinson Florham campuses are the standout ground here, with formal architecture, long lawns and mature trees that read as far grander than the drive suggests. Downtown around Waverly Place gives brick and shopfront texture for a different look. Campus access varies by season and event schedule, so it is worth confirming before planning a session around it.
