Tewksbury is rolling Hunterdon farmland with Oldwick village at its centre — white clapboard, a general store, and horse farms running out in every direction. It is about twenty minutes west of my Neshanic Station studio on the far side of Route 78, and it is some of the best countryside within reach of the studio.
Oldwick village gives you a compact, genuinely historic backdrop — clapboard, painted signage, stone walls — inside a two-minute walk. Beyond it the township opens into working farmland, and Christie Hoffman Farm Park and the Cold Brook area give public ground with real depth for family and equestrian sessions. The lanes here are narrow and the light drops fast behind the ridgelines, so timing matters more than it does on flatter ground.
